View Of Day 2

The second day was exciting. Obviously not as much happened in comparison to the first day but that was to be expected. The best part of the day was Kingdom Hearts 3 video. The characters in the trailer made a lot of people question what the story is truly about in this one, and what new system of attack will be able to use. The style of play seems to be a mix of Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts 2.
Other favorites were The Legend of Zelda Tri-force Heroes  and Star Fox Zero though a lot of people where upset on how unexciting the Nintendo Digital event went. No real major titles like Legend of Zelda Wii U was announced.

Overall the second day was pretty chill especially since we saw some of these games in other events, Like Final Fantasy 7 at Sony’s conference as well as Tomb Raider, and overall Nintendo’s event was pretty low key (not to exciting). Not bad but not the best day.

iOS 9 Most important Features (WWDC 2015)

© Apple

iOS 9 was revealed at WWDC 2015.
This update is to major but does bring some new apps and features.

“iOS 9 adds a new app to your Home screen. News conveniently collects all the stories you want to read, from top news sources, based on topics you’re most interested in” — Apple
Essentially it’s like Apple’s version of Flipboard. It will grab news that you are interested in from major news sources and will essentially be personalized.
“Youtube Link”

tech-wwdc-2015-live-ios-9-notes-appSo Notes app got a slight update. It is now easier than ever to make notes, a checklist, add photos, and even draw/sketch. The app now allows you to add pictures, links and even maps from other apps. Not just simple url’s.  And according to apple if you can’t remember where you added a specific item/attachment to “The Attachments Browser organizes all the items attached to your notes in one simple view, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for”(Apple).

In the new Maps update. We finally get a public transportation guide. And in select cities we can see the rout in a new transportation view. The update promises to plan a whole rout for us from A to B.
The new Nearby feature allows us the user to see stores, places to eat, gas stations etc… (better late then never)

Apple pay has been repackaged into this new Wallet app. You will be able to use Apple Pay to make purchases with debit cards(that support apple pay) or store credit cards such as Kohl’s Charge or JCPenney card.
cards will also be present in this app as they were in Passbook. Apple also added a shortcut of sorts to the Home button. By just simply double-clicking the Home button when your iPhone is locked you will be able to access Wallet and pay with Apple Pay.

Ios 9 Features

For iPad only we will now have the ability to do multitask. Yes this has been a feature on other tablets. So its good to see that apple is finally trying to make the ipad a bit more computer like.
There are two parts to this new multitasking feature.
First its the Slide Over feature.

© Apple

© Apple

This is a quick Multi-tasking feature that allows you to see another application without closing the first one. This is just so you can quickly look something up on the web or to respond to a message. It won’t allow for interaction with the other app.

Splitview is when you actually have two functional and interactable apps running side by side. You can resize the view of apps. This is similar to what can be done on a Computer.
This allows for people to do things such as sketch with a reference or write a paper while looking at information on a web page. It makes that line between tablet and laptop very fine.

Lastly the last multitasking feature Picture on Picture. This feature is activated while using FaceTime or watching a video. When you press the Home button the video you are watching will scale down to a video screen down to a corner of your tablet and continue playing. When you click on another app it will open and your video will continue to play in the corner even during the use of your 2nd app.

These Are the most important Features that I found where at least a little game changing, in terms of moving closer to what a lot users wanted. A lot of these features where just updates, but i don’t believe that we need mind-blowing leaps in tech to be satisfied. These are minimal changes apple has taken up but will with no doubt help improve their over all products
Thanks for reading hope you have a better feel of what iOS 9 is and does.

Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There English Dub Review Revised.

Thoughts on the Film:
So today (Friday, June 5th;) (sorry reviews a bit late) was the opening of the Movie When Marnie was There in my Area. And I have to say it was Amazingly Good. I’m a big fan of Studio Ghibli but the trailer didn’t give me much to go off of. So I was super surprised when the movie ended that I had enjoyed it very much. The friendship that is portrayed is very sweet. Anyway on to the details.

Spoiler free!!
Summary (for those of you who don’t know what movie is about) written by me:

Anna Sasaki is a young girl who lives with foster parents (Yoriko and her husband). She strongly believes that she is an outcast of society for having foster parents. One day at school she collapses from an asthma attack. Her doctor told her foster parents it be best for Anna to be in a calm place for a while. So they send her to spend the summer with Setsu and Kiyomasa Oiwa (relatives of Yoriko), in a rural, seaside town named Kushiro. In that town she finds a mansion where she meets a strange blond girl named Marnie who helps her grow and overcome her troubles. The question is who is this girl?

This film has to be on of my favorites for this year. (yes its a 2014 movie but it wasn’t in english). And not only was the animation for this movie Amazing the story was beautifully executed as well. The story goes through some of the darkest feelings a kid can go through; Neglect, fear of being an outcast, fear of not being loved by your parents, bullying, losing a friend. But this story also shows resolutions to all these problems, and the most beautiful friendship I have seen in a film for the longest time.
Another thing that really got me especially as the movie ended was that the story’s mystery kept me on my toes. I honestly didn’t know what was coming next. Every Turn was something unexpected. I was really confused at points of the movie, But it kept you watching. (no spoilers sorry) To give you a picture when me and my friend exited the movie theater we felt awed at how the movie was made, I didn’t know how to explain the movie.
For a kids film this was very mature in terms of the messages it gave the viewer. This film paints the world and life as one that is not always happy and magical, but rather presents the realities of life.

So the dubbing was also phenomenal,Not to forget to mention the music, the voice acting in English where Amazing!. GKids did a great job with this one. The feeling came straight through from the voice, you could feel sadness and happiness from the voices which gave us a great experience of the story in our own language.

Overall if you love characters that are relatable a good mystery, with an amazing message of friendship, growing as person, and discovery of how the world is then this is your movie. I have to award this a

Critic reviews(if you care)
In this demure Japanese adaptation of Joan G. Robinsons decidedly British ghost story, a withdrawn teen befriends a mysterious blonde girl who may or may not actually exist.
Peter Debruge·Variety

A beautifully animated tale of the growing friendship and occasionally rather cloying emotional travails of two 12-year-old girls.
Boyd van Hoeij·Hollywood Reporter

Beneath its calm, exquisitely detailed surface, When Marnie Was There bubbles with half-formed ideas and undeveloped themes.
Jeannette Catsoulis·New York Times

Subtle, sometimes really sad and honest about the struggles of adolescence, the film is a worthy last entry from Ghibli before the studio reportedly goes on hiatus.

Studio Ghibli’s The Cat Returns Review

The Cat Returns — Studio Ghibli
Rated PG — MPPA Rating

So Last night I finally got around to watching The Cat Returns. I hadn’t watched this since I was a little kid.

Summery: (written by me)
Haru (Chizuru Ikewaki – main character) rescues a cat that was about to be run over by a truck. The cat thanks her and promises to repay her. She later discovers the cat is actually a prince named Lune. Lune’s father, the “Cat King”, thanks her by giving her a lot of presents (presents only a cat would like). Unfortunately the presents give her more trouble than gratitude of saving the cat. The king seeing this asks her to marry Lune as a way to thank her for saving him. Haru not wanting to marry asks help from The Cat Bureau. Here she meets the Baron (Yoshihiko Hakamada) and Toto, (two statues that have been given life true the power of being created wholeheartedly) and Muta the cat, who provide assistance to free her from the Cat Kingdom.

I loved re-watching this old movie. The story and the life lesson in the movie where really well done. The character’s development was short but very noticeable. If you like cute and interesting story then this is for you. Also if you ever wondered what the story written in Whisper of the Heart was, this may answer that.  Over all the Movie was very solid and defiantly a must watch.

My-Score: 9/10
Rotten Tomatoes: 89%
